Kenny Johnson

Kenny Johnson is a seasoned defenseman celebrated for his reliability, character, and thoughtful leadership both on and off the ice. He played at Penn State from 2019-2023, where he collected Academic All‑Big Ten honors in both 2021–22 and 2022–23 and helped the Nittany Lions capture the 2019–20 Big Ten Championship. After the end of his college career, he started his professional career in the ECHL, with stops in Wheeling and Orlando before joining the Reading Royals in 2023–24.

Johnson answered the call to return to Reading for the 2024–25 season, posting 11 points in 46 games and earning the team’s “Mr. Reliable” title from coach Jason Binkley, who also praised his strong locker-room presence and consistent community involvement.

Drawing from a journey that spans BCHL junior hockey, college success, and professional resilience, Kenny brings a grounded, student‑athlete mindset to his advisor role. He uses his academic-achievement mindset and hockey IQ to guide players through development stages.
